The ACAs Take On an Idol Flair

Monday, FOX announced the nominees for the inaugural American Country Awards. And “Idol” was well-represented…

Carrie Underwood received six nominations: Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year: Female, Album of the Year for “Play On,” Single of the Year: Female for “Cowboy Casanova,” Touring Headline Package of the Year, and Video of the Year: Female for “Cowboy Casanova.”

Kellie Pickler received two nominations: Single of the Year: Female and Video of the Year: Female for “Didn’t Know How Much I Loved You.”

And, Danny Gokey received a nomination for Artist of the Year: Breakthrough Artist.

The nominees for each category, according to the official FOX press release, were determined by one of four media measurement companies: Big Champagne, Great American Country, Mediabase and Pollstar. The winners, however, are decided entirely by the fans. You can vote each day at until November 8th for all categories except Artist of the Year, which is open until December 4th.

The ACAs will air Monday, December 6th at 8 p.m. from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on FOX…
