FINALLY! A Constantine CD!

After what seems like forever, we are finally going to get a Constantine album…

“Constantine” will be released August 7th on Sixth Place Productions, Constantine’s own record label. The CD will be distributed by Sony/Red, who also distributed Elliott’s CD.

Rob Thomas co-wrote one track, as did Angie Aparo (Faith Hill’s “Cry”). Constantine told MTV that the CD has “kind of an East Coast Bon Jovi/Rob Thomas vibe with great pop hooks.”

The first single, “Everybody Loves,” is now available on iTunes. It’s been reworked since it was first released via Constantine’s website to give it more of a live feel. The second single will be “Girl Like You,” which is my favorite (so I hope it hasn’t been reworked too much). It will soon be tied to a story on “The Bold and the Beautiful” (I’m guessing Constantine will use it to woo Phoebe.).

Constantine told MTV that the CD is better than the one he could have made right off of “Idol.” “It’s more grassroots—I picked the band, financed it and co-wrote a bunch of the songs.” He also said he’s not concerned about the sales. “I can sell a couple hundred thousand copies and do what I love to do: play clubs. I don’t need to be a huge star.”

By the way, you can see Constantine present—along with his co-stars Kyle Lowder and Mackenzie Mauzy—at the Daytime Emmy Awards Friday, June 15th at 9 p.m. on CBS…
