FOX announced today that Ryan Seacrest will host the Emmys.There’s no word yet on how he will juggle the Emmy hosting duties with his E! red carpet hosting duties.
To me, this was the logical choice and I was hoping this meant that without a comedian hosting, we would have fewer needless sketches. But Emmy producer Ken Erlich told “Variety” that Seacrest will fit in well with some of the “innovative” things he’s planning for this year’s broadcast. Uh oh…
The Emmys will air Sunday, September 16th at 8 p.m. on FOX…
UPDATE: This from E! Online: "It's believed he'll still be part of the network's preshow coverage but will obviously need time to transition between the productions—not even Ryan Seacrest can be in two places at once. "
