I have always thought this was a cheesy song and this performance didn’t change my mind. I think she should’ve listened to LuLu and maybe if LuLu had given a better performance, she would have. It didn’t help matters that the band was too much.
Phil Stacey, “Tobacco Road”: 18
This performance was completely wrecked by the band. I wish someone would remind Rickey Minor that this is about the contestants and not about how good his backup singers are. They really should have let Phil have some of those phrases by himself. He sounded fantastic with just the piano.
