"Idol" Apologizes to a Louisville Auditioner

Remember Mark Mudd, the auditioner in Louisville who told the judges “Take care and be careful”? As you’ll recall, the judges took his words as a threat…

Well, Thursday, “Idol” producers apologized for the judges’ remarks after discovering that “be careful” is a common goodbye expression in Louisville.

The producers said the comment took them by surprise because they hadn’t heard it from anyone else.

In a statement the producers said, “We now know better and look forward to visiting Louisville again someday.”

Speaking of Louisville, I checked with Louisville Slugger about the “American Idol” bats that were shown during the episode and they told me they were only produced for the show.

I know, I’m bummed too…
