TMZ is reporting that Kelly, Ruben, Carrie and Taylor will all perform on tonight’s finale. Fantasia is unable to appear because she is appearing on Broadway.
TMZ also reports:
Gladys Knight will sing “Midnight Train to Georgia” with the top six girls, while Smokey Robinson will sing “Ooh Baby Baby” with the top six guys…
Melinda will sing with BeBe and CeCe Winans…
Sanjaya will perform “You Really Got Me” with Joe Perry of Aerosmith…
Blake will team up with Doug E. Fresh and he and Jordin will duet on “I Saw Her Standing There”…
And since the producers have finally gotten clearance for Beatles songs, there will also be a medley of Beatles hits performed…
TMZ is also reporting that Green Day will perform…
Pictures and video have already surfaced on the Internet of Sanjaya filming a UCLA-inspired segment. But TMZ is adding an interesting twist to the story. They have a video of Sanjaya explaining that he is really Bill Vendell, an art student at the Rhode Island School of Design, and he created Sanjaya as part of his thesis. “The character was part of a larger art installation.” I have no idea what this is about, and I couldn’t get the video to load on my computer.
