Will 13 Be Unlucky For Someone Tonight?

The number 13 could prove to be very unlucky for the last contestant to perform tonight—even though that last slot is usually known as the best place to be.

Why?

Because the 13th contestant will be given a special number that does not follow the usual pattern.

If you’re a regular phone voter, you know that the phone number for each contestant begins with 1-866-IDOLS and then the contestant number. But, as first discovered by DialIdol.com, 1-866-IDOLS-13 is a phone sex line. So, Idol will be forced to give a different number to the 13th contestant.

Personally, I think this is a disadvantage because there may be some confusion over the number. And if people dial incorrectly, they may get upset and not try again.

Kind of gives the phrase “pimp spot” a whole new meaning, doesn’t it?
