David has recorded the farewell song for this season of “American Idol.” But it’s a pretty familiar tune—especially for children of the 80s. It’s “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” a cover of the 1985 hit by Simple Minds from “The Breakfast Club.”The song is available today for free on David’s website if you preorder David’s upcoming album. It will be available to purchase on iTunes and other digital music sites March 8th.
David’s second album, which he’s been working on with Matt Serletic (Rob Thomas, Matchbox Twenty, Collective Soul), will be released later this year.
