What Have the Judges Chosen for the Top Three?

On Tuesday, the top three will be singing a song of their own choosing and a song chosen by the judges.

And since the judges’ choices are usually sent to the contestants during their Homecoming visits, we usually know what the choices are before the show airs…

Warning: Stop reading now if you don’t want to know the choices…

Here are the choices as reported on “MJ’s Big Blog.” Just remember that these could always get changed before Tuesday…

Randy and Kara have chosen One Republic’s “Apologize” for Kris Allen. I was worried that the judges would try to sabotage Kris with a lousy song, but this is actually not a bad choice. My biggest concern is that it may be a little out of Kris’ range. Hopefully, Kris will pick a killer song to counterbalance this one.

Paula has chosen Terrence Trent D’Arby’s “Dance Little Sister” for Danny Gokey. I think this is a terribly shrewd choice by Paula. I can hear Danny singing it in my head right now. The chorus is perfectly suited for his voice and it’s an upbeat song to counterbalance Danny’s choice, which you know will be a ballad.

Simon is choosing for Adam, but there’s some confusion over what he has chosen. Some reports say he has chosen U2’s “One” while others say it’s “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak. Either one would continue Simon’s streak of great song choices for the finalists. And I think we know that Adam would nail either one.

I think all three choices show that this is going to be a great show—the best one since Ruben-Clay-Kimberley in season two and possibly the best ever…
